Influence of sample flow and sample volume on paclitaxel recovery.

2a: Influence of the flow during the extraction on paclitaxel recovery. A total of 18 samples of 4 ml EDTA-plasma containing 14C-paclitaxel as tracer were extracted with a flow ranging from 0.1 to 7 ml/min in 3 separate experiments (experiment 1: , 2: and 3: ■).

2b: Relationship between sample size and response. Using a sample size of 0.5, 1, 2, 3 and 4 ml of plasma with a flow of <0.5 ml/min during the extraction caused a linear increase in detector response with increasing sample size. Data from 3 separate experiments with a total number of 25 determinations are included in figure 2b. The data points given are mean values with error bars representing ± 1SD.
