Highly synchronized cultures of the parasites were grown in the absence or presence of 100 nM of ZL₃B or bortezomib, stained by Giemsa stain, and analyzed by light microscopy.(B) Estimated number of daughter rings formed 48 h following parasite (3D7) invasion of host erythrocytes in the absence (U) or presence of ZL₃B (Z) or bortezomib (B).
